What our client said

“We’ve had the pleasure of working with Gerard from Contribute, and his expertise has been a real asset to our organisation. Gerard redesigned our website, making it accessible and user-friendly for carers seeking essential resources. He also provided impactful photography, designed a range of informative leaflets, and created branding for one of our key projects. His knowledge and skill have strengthened our outreach efforts and improved how we connect with carers in our community. We highly value Gerard’s support and the quality of his work.”

Eddie Owens, Chief Executive Officer

Glasgow East End Community Carers have been supporting carers in the East End of Glasgow since 1991, providing vital resources and guidance to empower carers and improve their quality of life. Originally founded by local individuals with personal caregiving experience, the organisation recognised the need for support, advice, and information to help carers continue in their caring roles.

A Comprehensive Design Solution for Glasgow East End Community Carers

When Glasgow East End Community Carers approached me, they needed someone to design a suite of leaflets that communicated their message consistently and effectively. I was able to guide them through every step of the process, leveraging my design skills and experience to create materials that showcased the groups and advice on offer. Since then, our work has grown to include brand development, website design, and photography, all aimed at supporting their goals and communication needs.

Developing the Play-Sense Brand and Capturing Their Story

One of the standout projects I worked on was the brand creation for their Play-Sense children’s group, a specialised pre-school playgroup designed for parents and children with disabilities, including autism, developmental delays, and physical disabilities. I designed a unique look for Play-Sense that reflects its mission and values, and I captured vibrant photos of their sensory room, bringing to life the dynamic, supportive environment within their office.

Engaging Carers Through Photography and Community Events

I’ve also had the opportunity to attend carer meetings and social events, where I captured the warm, inclusive atmosphere that carers experience when they connect with Glasgow East End Community Carers. These images have become a key part of their website, showcasing the community spirit and support available.

Building an Accessible, User-Friendly Website

Glasgow East End Community Carers now benefits from a purpose built WordPress website that I designed and developed, which keeps carers informed on essential issues impacting their roles. The website offers a wealth of information on benefits, grants, energy-saving tips, and council tax guidance. Additionally, the site features ‘Recite Me’ software, enabling a wide range of accessibility options. Visually impaired users can access the read-aloud function, and the site can be translated into over 100 languages, ensuring essential information reaches the broadest possible audience.
