About We Contribute
Well, We Contribute is really me – Gerard to some, Gerry to others. I’ve worked in the creative industry for over 25 years, starting as a junior designer in the magazine division of a national newspaper. After gaining valuable experience, I moved into agency roles, eventually becoming a Senior Designer in 2008. During my career, I’ve had the privilege of working on high-profile projects for brands such as Ogilvie Group, Celtic FC, Rangers FC, Schuh, ScotRail, MS Society Scotland, Marie Curie, SCIAF, and Haines Watts. These years gave me invaluable insight into brand communication and the ability to craft engaging, impactful visuals across a variety of sectors.
In 2009, I established We Contribute as a creative outlet, initially taking on self-initiated briefs and projects for friends and family. What began as a side project gradually grew into a platform where I could explore ideas and further develop my approach to design. By 2012, I made the decision to focus on We Contribute full-time – a choice I’ve never regretted. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work on meaningful projects with fantastic clients, delivering them alongside a trusted team of associates and suppliers I’ve collaborated with for most of my career. Together, we bring diverse expertise and a shared commitment to quality that enhances each project.
Today, as the founder and lead creative at We Contribute, I focus on using design to empower charities and purpose-driven organisations. We Contribute has become more than just a design agency; it’s a committed partner for organisations aiming to make a positive impact. By working closely with our clients, we help them connect with their audiences, raise awareness, and inspire action. Grounded in collaboration and a shared commitment to social responsibility, We Contribute reflects my belief that creativity, paired with purpose, can drive real change.
Creativity with Purpose
We Contribute is a Scottish-based creative and charity communications specialist. We create impactful visual experiences that empower charities and purpose-led businesses to engage with their audiences, raise awareness, and inspire action. Over the years, we have increasingly partnered with charities and third-sector organisations, a natural alignment with our commitment to social responsibility and positive change. By fostering collaboration and a shared vision, we believe that when we all contribute, we can achieve more.
Our Approach: Partnership and Insight
Based in Glasgow, we work closely with our clients to capture their messages and help them connect meaningfully with their audiences. We start by getting to know your organisation’s goals and the communities you want to reach. This collaborative approach ensures that every project is tailored to meet your unique needs, delivering creative solutions that resonate with purpose.
As a relatively small agency, we pride ourselves on being accessible and approachable. We work hard to create solutions that are both impactful and efficient, bringing real, tangible results. We understand that effective design goes beyond aesthetics; it’s about creating solutions that communicate your mission and inspire action, even on modest budgets.

The Evolution of We Contribute
My business was originally called “Ginger,” but in 2014, I made the decision to rebrand. After brainstorming numerous names, I decided to ask a few trusted clients and colleagues for their insights on why they chose to work with me. Their feedback highlighted a recurring theme: “contribution.”
They valued my contribution in meetings – a fresh perspective and a unique skillset – and my ability to bring their ideas to life in a way that aligned with their goals. One client even described me as “a dependable voice of reason” and appreciated having someone they could rely on, someone who would listen and make their projects a priority. The words “contribute” and “contribution” appeared in every piece of feedback I received, and it became clear: my business name should reflect this core value. Thus, We Contribute was born.
Why Choose We Contribute?
We Contribute is more than a design agency; we are committed partners to charities and purpose-led businesses. We combine creativity, knowledge, and professionalism in every project, helping our clients achieve their missions and make a lasting impact. Whether you’re looking to launch a new campaign, strengthen your digital presence, or inspire action, We Contribute is here to help you make it happen.
